The Bowen Technique (Bowen Therapy) is remedial therapy that is non-intrusive, gentle and very effective. A Bowen treatment consists of gentle moves over muscles and soft tissue which stimulate the release of tension and stress empowering the body's own resources to naturally reset and heal itself. It is completely safe to use on anyone from newborns to the elderly for any complaint from sports injuries to chronic conditions. It is a holistic treatment, which aims to treat the whole person.

A Bowen Treatment will take approximately 45 minutes and most of the work can be performed through light clothing. Two or three treatments at regular intervals are sufficient to achieve lasting relief from even long standing pain, although further treatments may sometimes be required. To receive maximum benefit it is recommended that other physical therapies are not mixed. i.e. massage, reflexology, physiotherapy, etc.

Unlike other therapies there is no manipulation or adjustment of hard tissue and no force is needed or used. Thumbs and fingers are used to make rolling type movements, which activate specific muscles, soft tissue and energy within the body. During a treatment there are periods when the client is left resting for a few moments allowing the body to rebalance itself and commence the healing process.
