| What is Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is an individual form of healing which involves using essential oils to treat the entire person rather than just addressing the symptom. The use of essential oils for massage promotes a relaxing & detoxifying effect, through improved circulation and lymphatic drainage. What does a treatment involve? Essential and carrier oils are blended for each individual client’s needs, depending on the reason for the treatment. They can be combined to treat several conditions at the same time. You will be asked to undress to your underwear (in private) and lie face down the treatment couch. You will be completely covered in towels during the treatment. The massage will begin with the back, then the backs of the legs with each area being uncovered for access. A full body aromatherapy massage will take approx. 1 hour 15 minutes, with part body treatments ranging from 20 minutes to 45 minutes. How does it work? During an aromatherapy massage the aroma of the essential oils calms the mind and relaxes the central nervous system. Combining the benefits of essential oils with those of therapeutic massage produces a pleasurable yet effective method of healing. Together they enhance the circulation of blood & lymph, relax & tone tense tired muscles and promote a sense of overall well-being.
